Orders & Delivery
When will I receive my order?
Orders are usually prepared within 1–2 working days. Once dispatched, Royal Mail Tracked 48 aims to deliver within 2–3 working days. Delivery times are estimates and may vary.
What delivery options do you offer?
We offer Royal Mail Tracked 48 delivery throughout the UK for £3.99, with FREE UK delivery on orders over £50.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at the moment, lovely! Moonlight Cottage currently delivers within the UK only.

We're a small, independent UK-based business, creating handmade candles and wax melts with love.

What wax do you use?
Our candles and wax melts are lovingly hand-poured using 100% soy wax.
Are your products CLP compliant?
Where required, our products include CLP safety and allergen information on their packaging. Please always read the label before use.
Are wax melts safe around pets?
Always keep wax melts, burners and fragranced products safely away from pets. Some animals may be sensitive to certain fragrance ingredients, so we recommend using products in a well-ventilated room and checking the safety information provided.
What are wax melts?
Wax melts are little pieces of scented wax that gently release fragrance when warmed in a suitable wax melt burner. They're a lovely way to fill your home with your favourite scents.
How do wax melts work?
Simply place a suitable amount of wax into your burner's dish. As the wax warms, it melts and releases its fragrance. Always follow the safety instructions supplied with your burner.
Wax Melt Care
How long do wax melts last?
It depends on the fragrance, amount of wax, room size and warmer used. You can continue enjoying your wax melts until the fragrance begins to fade.
How much wax should I use?
Use enough wax to sit comfortably inside your burner's dish without overfilling it. Always allow space for the wax to melt safely.
Can I mix different fragrances together?
You can experiment, but we recommend enjoying each Moonlight Cottage fragrance individually to experience it just as it was created.
How do I remove used wax from my burner?
Allow your burner and wax to cool completely before removing the used wax. Follow your burner's cleaning instructions and ensure the dish is clean and dry before using it again.
What if I accidentally spill melted wax?
Allow the wax to cool and harden before carefully removing it. Different surfaces require different cleaning methods, so avoid applying heat or cleaning products that could cause damage.
How should I store my wax melts?
Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. We recommend leaving them in their original packaging to help protect their fragrance.
Candle Care
How long should I burn my candle?
Always follow the burn-time guidance supplied with your candle. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from children, pets, draughts and anything flammable.
How can I prevent my candle from tunnelling?
On the first burn, where safe and within the recommended maximum burn time, allow the melted wax to reach towards the edges of the container. This helps encourage an even burn.
Should I trim my candle wick?
Yes! Trim your wick before each burn, following the instructions supplied with your candle. A properly maintained wick helps your candle burn more evenly.
