Our Moonlight Cottage candles are made to bring warmth and beautiful fragrance into your home. To enjoy them safely, please follow these important candle care guidelines.

Candle Safety Guidelines

1. Never leave a burning candle unattended

Always extinguish your candle before leaving the room or going to sleep.

2. Keep away from flammable materials

Place candles well away from curtains, bedding, decorations and anything that could catch fire.

3. Use a stable, heat-resistant surface

Always place your candle upright on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.

4. Trim your wick

Before each burn, trim your wick to approximately 5mm, or follow the instructions on your candle label. This helps maintain a steady flame and reduce excessive soot.

5. Avoid draughts

Keep burning candles away from open windows, fans and air vents to prevent uneven burning and flickering flames.

6. Keep away from children and pets

Always position candles somewhere they cannot be touched, reached or knocked over.

7. Never move a burning candle

Candle containers can become very hot. Never move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is still liquid. Allow it to cool completely first.

8. Keep the wax pool clear

Remove wick trimmings, matches and other debris before lighting your candle.

9. Leave space between candles

When burning multiple candles, leave plenty of space between them to prevent excessive heat.

10. Extinguish carefully

Make sure the flame is completely extinguished before leaving your candle. Never use water to put out a candle.

11. Never burn to the very bottom

Stop using your candle when the minimum amount of wax specified on its safety label remains. Burning a candle too low can cause the container to overheat.

12. Check your candle container

Never burn a candle if its container is cracked, chipped or damaged.

13. Follow the recommended burn time

Always follow the maximum burn time and other safety instructions supplied with your candle.
